Curriculum

Apex School curriculum is inquiry-driven, based on individual learning styles in terms of pedagogy and assessment. It addresses global needs and also relates to local issues and Arabic culture. It aims to promote critical and creative thinking skills, effective communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and information and media skills. The entire curriculum is transacted with various units of inquiry with a core area that incorporates Perspectives (informed positions), Critical Thinking, Research Projects, Life Skills, and Social Empowerment through Work and Action.

We believe that our new curriculum should not only prepare pupils for secondary school but should also provide a wide range of opportunities to develop a range of skills that could potentially uncover the talent of pupils. Our curriculum will be designed to: We are developing a subject and themed approach to the school curriculum. This mix will ensure that pupils acquire essential knowledge, develop key skills through the core areas of learning, and also enable a wider more purposeful application to the use of skills in practice (see table and diagram link below). English, Urdu, and Math’s are taught daily and an additional session is planned for the specific teaching of reading.  Science, Computing & S. Studies are taught alongside other curriculum foundation subjects within our themes/topics.
